Janet Acosta
Director
Janet was raised in sunny Southern California and enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors. She loves to picnic, bike ride, and hike in the San Gabriel mountains. She has four grandchildren who keep her on her toes and always put a smile on her face.
Experience
Janet has enjoyed working as a lactation educator since 1998 and is proud to be a member of the International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants ® (IBCLC ®). She has worked with nutritionists and dietetic staff as a nutritional assistant and understands how a healthy diet greatly contributes to the outcome and success of breastfeeding. Janet has had the opportunity to counsel women who have been victims of domestic violence, worked at major university affiliated hospitals, and "in home" private practice as a lactation consultant.
Working with people from all walks of life she recognizes that each woman is different in her own right. She never assumes that what may work for one, will work for all. She finds no greater joy than to share her experience and knowledge while watching a mother grow and thrive with her child.
Consultation Goals
As a mother of three breastfed children, Janet fully understands the challenges a new mother faces. She enters each session with empathy and non-judgment. Listening closely to the mother's individual needs is what drives her sessions. Her goal is to work together as a team, with mommy and baby, until the desired target is reached. To Janet there is nothing more rewarding than helping another woman reach her goals.
Thank you for considering Homecoming Lactation Consultants to be a part of your family. We look forward to growing together.
